The CYA Playbook is Coming!
Young, disabled, and doing things differently
We believe that joy matters, creativity is powerful, and that young disabled people should have the chance to lead, speak up, and shape their communities.
Now, we’re sharing how we’ve done that in our own way!
The CYA Playbook
Written by CYA and the Community Organising team at Grapevine, who’ve walked alongside us for years, coaching, championing, and making space as we’ve grown into our power and become leaders in our own right.
This playbook is a guide, a celebration, and a collection of ideas. It’s everything we’ve learned from organising together — the joyful bits, the hard bits, and all the moments in between.
We couldn’t find a guide that spoke to how we organise…so we made one!
What’s inside?
How to make accessibility real, not just a checklist
Why joy is part of the work, not a reward
Building voice, power and leadership
Collective care and looking after each other
How allies can show up in the right ways
Practical tools, real-life examples and honest reflections
Who it’s for:
Youth workers and organisers
Disabled young people starting their own thing
Allies, educators, creatives and campaigners
Anyone who wants to think like a community organiser
Whether you're just starting out or you’ve been doing this for years, we hope you’ll find something useful, surprising, or joyful inside.
Join us for the CYA Playbook Launch + Ally Gathering
We’re not putting the playbook online just yet…because this is more than a download. It’s a moment to gather, connect, and act.
🗓️ Date: Thursday 10th July 2025 11.30 - 1 pm
