PART 2: Our Leadership Goals for the Future
Where We’re Heading Next — and the Change We Want to Create
Leadership is a journey that keeps growing. In Part 2 of our Leader Spotlight series, Tom, Heidi and Prash share the kind of leaders they want to become and the changes they want to see in CYA and the world!
Tom’s Future Goals
I want to grow my leadership while supporting the strategic board’s work, having more in-person 1-1s, and meeting with organisations to strengthen our influence. Next year, I hope to see more young members joining CYA, a fully active strategic board and for disability to be taken seriously, not treated as a tick-box for organisations.

Prash’s Future Goals
I want to use the leadership guide Joey created for me to grow my confidence, lead more meetings, and have a voice in new spaces like the CFG ecosystem core team. I hope to see more people using Makaton so that communication becomes more inclusive, and I want to continue building a connected, supportive community at CYA.
Heidi’s Future Goals
I want to grow my leadership by supporting more young people to become leaders themselves. I hope to see a change in public attitudes toward disabled people and our campaigning, and I would love for CYA to be featured on TV to showcase our work.
Leadership at CYA, our way!
At Coventry Youth Activists (CYA), leadership isn’t just about holding a title or giving directions; it’s about showing up, working together, and using your voice to make real change.
In this series, we’re highlighting their leadership journeys, proud moments, and hopes for the future. Discover how they make a difference, both within CYA and in the wider community. Check out Part 1
